Poutine assures Erdogan that Russia is willing to talk to Ukraine.

 During a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that Moscou is ready to talk to Kiev, according to the Kremlin.

« M. Poutine confirmed that the Russian side was willing to talk to Ukrainian authorities and international partners to resolve the conflict,« the Kremlin said in a statement.


M. Poutine further stated that his country would not terminate its special operation in Ukraine unless Kiev ended its military aggression and complied with Russia's security demands.


« M. Poutine has expressed the hope that at the next round of negotiations, Ukrainian representatives will take a more constructive approach that takes into account the current state of affairs,« said the communiqué.


On the other hand, the Turkish presidency stated in a statement that M. Erdogan assured Russian President Vladimir Putin of Ankara's willingness to assist in a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.


« During meetings, President Erdogan stated that Turkey was willing to facilitate the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis by peaceful means as soon as possible,« according to Erdogan's office.


« Asserting his ongoing communication with the Ukrainian side and other countries, President Erdogan stated that he would continue to make efforts to lead global negotiations and achieve results,« according to the same source.
